Rising Through The Fire | Orange and Red Rose Watercolor Art Print, Limited Edition Giclée

I painted this rose during a difficult season of my life, and something unexpected happened while I was working on its center. I started thinking about resilience, the kind where you keep showing up even when life feels heavy. You keep loving your family, doing your work, and moving forward even when your heart is tired.

Somewhere in those layers, I realized that resilience doesn’t always look strong on the outside. Often it’s quiet, and it glows from within.

The rose rises from deep reds into glowing orange and gold, as if lit from the inside. I built the color in bold, fearless washes, letting the darkest tones settle at the edges while the center blazes. I added texture to only a few petals so the softness could stay intact. The red buds play against the fresh greens, and the open negative space around the leaves, stems, and buds lets the whole piece breathe.

This is a painting about courage, hope, and the quiet resilience women carry through hard seasons. It’s a reminder, wherever it hangs, that you can be tender and unbreakable at the same time.
