Hydrangeas grow right outside my studio window. They feel like little sparkling gems—always changing with the light.
I used transparent layers of watercolor to build up the rich, vibrant color and capture the depth of each bloom. The petals have such delicate texture, and I wanted to show the intricate play of light and shadow across them. Up close, the shapes begin to blur into soft, abstract forms.
